History in the minds of many is just a collection of discrete chunks of facts or suppositions. But life isn't really like that: it is messy and connected in random and surprising ways. I am going to use this blog to muse about some of the connections I have found intriguing, especially as I travel around Europe on my gap year in 2014. *
